HQ Aviation gains approval as RR300 Authorized Service Center

8th April 2019, Denham, UK - HQ Aviation, the very successful British helicopter training school and maintenance centre has expanded its list of approvals through its appointment as a Rolls-Royce RR300 Authorized Service Center.  Engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce today at Heli-Expo 2019 officially confirmed HQ Aviation has joined the RR300 Service Center network, which offers global, approved maintenance support to RR300 powered Robinson R66 operators worldwide.  HQ Aviation was assessed by H+S Aviation, who have been given delegated rights by Rolls-Royce to ensure compliance with the engine manufacturer's requirements.

This approval expands on HQ Aviation's relationship with Robinson Helicopter Company.  HQ subsidiary Global Rotors, based in Scotland, are dealers for Robinson and HQ Aviation are an approved Robinson Service Center for R22, R44 and R66 models. 

The Service Centers provide maintenance, inspections and parts sales directly to operators.  HQ Aviation already maintains the biggest Robinson R66 fleet in Europe, and has many connections across the globe with other R66 operators.  Service Centers are capable of providing a broad range of engine support including services offered by under the Rolls-Royce TotalCare® program.  HQ Aviation maintains a total of 61 helicopters, and thus plays a pivotal role in supporting a number of training schools across southern and central UK.

All current network members are directly associated with Robinson Helicopter dealers and service centers, giving operators comprehensive support for the aircraft and engine.

HQ Aviation is based at Denham Aerodrome, close to London's Heathrow Airport, and celebrates eight years of operations this month.   HQ's flying school trains pilots to private and commercial licences, and offers other ratings including type conversions and night flying approvals.  The company's maintenance department covers a range of helicopter types, with particular focus on the full Robinson range, and carries out the highest quality rebuilds on calendar or time expired machines.

The Rolls-Royce RR300 FIRST network (Fully Integrated Rolls-Royce Support Team) is the only authorized global support network for operators of RR300 engines, providing affordable, reliable, quality solutions on six continents.

Aerial Firefighting Europe Conference and Exhibition Prepares for March 19th Opening in France

Aerial Firefighting Europe 2019 is the latest event in the expanding conference and exhibition portfolio run by Tangent Link. It follows the recent highly successful SAR conference in Australia and takes place on 19-20 March 2019 at Nîmes in France. Tangent Link prides itself in having a strategic partnership to underpin each of its conferences, and this event is supported by Sécurité Civile, the French Government agency with particular responsibility for aerial firefighting. Our hosts operate 23 aircraft on firefighting work, including twelve Canadair CL415s, two Bombardier Dash 8s and nine Firecats. One more Bombardier Dash 8 is expected to be delivered soon.

The two-day conference has a full programme covering operational and technical subjects, along with the sharing of past experiences and exploring future plans. This will provide attendees with both a wide range of actionable material, and the opportunity to consolidate on existing knowledge. Subjects include analysis of aerial firefighting in Belarus, Latvia, Portugal, France, Greece, Sweden, Norway and the UK, as well as practical operational topics. Other presentations investigate the strengthening of EU disaster management, fighting wildfires using space-based assets, leveraging benefits from research partnerships, and the French Strategy to fight forest fires & their vision of air-to-ground.

Live demonstrations will take place just outside of the exhibition hangar on both days. On 9th March the Sécurité Civile will showcase two Grumman S-2 Trackers, two CL 415 aircraft and four firefighter trucks demonstrating their aerial firefighting abilities. In addition, Air Tractor Europe S.L. will fly their AT-802 on the event’s second day, 20th March.

A press conference is scheduled at 17:20 on 19th March with John Longhurst (CEO of Tangent Link), Mr Yvan Lachaud (President of Nîmes Metropole) and Préfet Jacques Witkowski (Director General - French General Directorate for Civil Protection and Crisis Management) addressing the audience, followed by a short Q&A session.

The dedicated exhibition area will provide attendees the opportunity to discuss topics in more detail on a 1:1 basis with company representatives. Aerial Search & Rescue Asia Pacific 2019 touches down in Melbourne on 21 February 2019

Aerial Search & Rescue Asia Pacific 2019, Australia’s inaugural aerial search and rescue event, expands its reach after Tangent Link’s successful series in Europe over the past six years.

Supported by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), whose search and rescue region covers 53 million square kilometres including the Australian continent, large areas of the Indian, Pacific and Southern Oceans as well as the Australian Antarctic territories, a tenth of the world’s surface, it seemed pertinent to bring the event down under.  

The two-day conference includes a program covering operational and technical topics, along with the sharing of past experiences and exploring future plans providing delegates with a wide range of actionable material and the opportunity to consolidate on existing knowledge. Subjects to discuss include analysis of SAR in Australia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, the Maldives and Antarctica, as well as operational topics covering both fixed and rotary wings and the hot topic of drone regulation. Other presentations investigate the sharing of aerial assets across different mission types, the medical aspects of aerial SAR, leveraging a multi-national approach to SAR and ways of improving SAR capabilities through the use of Australia's satellite positioning program.

HeliGroup launches world-first Airbus ACH135 Helionix for charter operations

HeliGroup is today launching their newly-delivered Airbus ACH135 Helionix into the charter market from their UK base at Wycombe Air Park.  The latest generation twin engine luxury aircraft will serve the high-end charter market.

HeliGroup is based close to all of the key London corporate jet airports at Luton, Stansted, Oxford, Biggin Hill and Farnborough, as well as the Netjets Heliport in central London.

The H135 includes a Helionix suite and full cream leather interior with carbon fibre trim, as well as the latest model fuel-efficient Pratt & Whitney PW206B3 engines.  The aircraft has seating for six passengers and a good size baggage bay with plenty of capacity for luggage, golf clubs etc.

HeliGroup is first operator to make the exceptional Airbus Corporate Helicopter (ACH) standard H135 Helionix available to customers worldwide for charter operations.  ACH provides tailored completions and is characterised by care and attention to detail, and offers a high quality and exclusive service-based end-to-end ownership experience.
