Military Helicopter Fleets

In 2021 Q1 we will be launching our military helicopter fleet data. This is the first step towards including every military helicopter in the world in our main database.

Military helicopters present a different sort of marketing opportunity for a number of reasons. Not only is the acquisition process is often drawn out over many years, but once they are delivered, they are very unlikely to change ownership for many years. Other aspects include aircraft specifications are usually bespoke to the customer, and there are often influences from other countries or groups (eg EU, NATO, etc) in the whole process.

This data includes all military helicopter types, including “gunship” helicopters.

Our Military Helicopter Fleets data looks at every country in the world, and every military division that could operate helicopters - often that means Air Force, Army and Navy for example.

For each of these organisations, we then look at every helicopter type in current or planned future operation, and provide

  • Number ordered

  • Number awaiting delivery

  • Years of delivery - from and to

  • Primary role

  • Number in operation

  • Number retired from use - eg by being superceded

  • Number damaged - removed from the fleet following an accident

  • Number sold - to new owners who expect to operate them.

Finally, where we are aware of a planned acquisition program, we include details of the types we believe are under consideration.
